Here's another great vid about salsa-making from @AlejandrofromMexico: ua-cam.com/video/f7YBlMguuOE/v-deo.htmlsi=M0-tdta_9NeSYOGE
The "recipe" for salsa is almost always the same, even though the ingredients change. Cook the fruits, garlic, and onion in some way before mashing everything together into a purée. Always salt to taste.
Basic Red Table Salsa:
1 jalapeño
¼ onion
1 garlic clove
2 ripe and in-season roma tomatoes
Wintertime Red Table Salsa:
1 jalapeño
¼ onion
1 garlic clove
10oz canned tomatoes
1tbsp minced cilantro stems
Creamy Salsa Verde:
1 jalapeño
¼ onion
1 garlic clove
4-5 peeled tomatillos
1 ripe avocado
Additional variations:
1. Make a raw salsa, then fry it in lard for "salsa frita"
2. Make a raw salsa, then cook it down with a beer for "salsa borracha"
3. Add chipotles for smokiness, habaneros for spiciness, or any combination of dried peppers

You can get real wine, very cheap, very real wine, which is perfect for cooking. In fact I'd say if you just want it for cooking, get the cheapest real wine. Don't buy "cooking wine"

Scrambled eggs are not off the table! You can make them in the microwave in a minute and a half! I discovered them during recent depressive episode and it was amazing just having scrambled eggs on bread or toast if I felt up to it. Also had the side benefit of making me feel like I'd achieved something because I'd made myself something nutritious. You just whisk or even mix the egg up with a fork, add a little splash of milk if you have it, then microwave it in a ramekin or small mug (covered with clingwrap but leave a little opening vent at the edge) for about a minute on medium-high heat, then for the last 10-30 seconds you just take it out and mix every 10 seconds to make sure you don't overcook it. It took me a couple of goes to get the texture right and I have overcooked them a couple of times when I wasn't paying attention and set the heat too high or left them in for the full minute and a half without taking out to mix. But it has truly been a game changer for me and I hope others will enjoy microwave scrambled eggs during a tough time now too 💜 You can get through it, friends, depression is not all you are. It too will pass 💜

This kind of shenanigans from the food industry is illegal in sweden, they need to label it for what it is, but they all try sneaky wordings to make you think its real :D But we have heavy regulatory rules on how they need to label the food.

So glad that Cool Whip and coffee creamers are really unknown in my country. Corn syrup is not in everything. Bread isn't sweet. Soda is made with Cane Sugar. Cheese is not orange.

I just had a conversation about this with a friend. They were basically saying that the EU food labeling laws aren't restrictive enough (they are very restrictive, which i think is a good thing), and I was saying that any loophole that is closed will create a new one and that it is better to educate consumers about food labeling language.

When I moved into my new place I bought a bunch of corn tortillas, but I didn't have a microwave or a nonstick skillet to heat them up in. I tried using a stainless steel pan but it just stuck and made a mess, lol. I bought some cheap non-stick cookware and was so happy to finally be able to eat them, lol.

Honestly, I blame the people who don't want to read what they are buying. I made that mistake back when I was younger and I thought that garlic seasoning and garlic salt were the exact same thing, no they were not and one word makes a hell of a difference. Now I read everything I buy

There is a very different narrative in the US compared to in Europe. Here we know which vegetable oils are healthy and are encouraged to eat them instead of demonising all of them, or strangely believing that animal derived oils are somehow healthy. But it might also be that it is much easier to get a hold of cold pressed canola/linseed oil/extra virgin olive oil here than in the US for some reason. Have heard cold pressed is only found in health stores for some reason. However, it still doesn't change that our bodies need fat and that certain kinds of vegetable fat are the healthiest around. When I see a lot of Americans repeating "veg oils are the worst", "I only eat meat and butter" I honestly get concerned.

By your logic It’s also called food because you can eat it. So your line or thinking is exactly why these garbage industrial products exists as food substitutes. Veganism isn’t a diet choice it’s a terrible health and environmental choice. Dislike.

Vegan are fraud, if they trully belived in their food, they would come up with original names that they invented, Faux mage is not Chees, Faux meat is not meat, the same for anything they do, they are just trying to copy and insinuate it is the same, it NOTHING LIKE WHAT THEY SAY IT IS, and most vegan alternative are so disgustingly processed food and way worst than fast food, if eating only non-protein was good for you they would come up with good alternatives, and NO soy is not good for you, only fermented soy, so when soy in non-fermented form is in everything vegan eat, it is not a good choice, if you want a healthy lifestyle. Also, meat eater also eat vegetables and fruits, yet they do not call an apple a faux apple.
